Vic Sotto will host Philippine version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire on TV5.

The Eat Bulaga host also known as bossing will be stepping outside of T.A.P.E., Inc. and GMA to host Who Wants to Be A Millionaire on TV5.

Vic Sotto will be joining his best friend Joey de Leon as the newest member of TV5 family. Joey de Leon has long in TV5, formerly known as ABC 5 with his show Wow Mali.

Who Wants to Be A Millionaire was originally franchised by Viva TV on 2000 and had Christopher de Leon as its game master. The game show aired until 2002 in IBC 13 until other game shows like GAME KNB (Now Pilipinas Game KNB in ABS-CBN) killed its popularity.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire played a big part in the Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire, and it’s not a surprise if someone would assume that TV5 will resurrect the game show in the country because of that film.

To date more than 60 countries have their own version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Who Wants to Be a Millionaire Philippine version will replace You and Me Against the World, hosted by Gretchen Barretto.
