Gabriela Ad Wins at Cannes

And who would have thought that Gabriela could win something like this? I’m not mocking them, but Gabriela isn’t really a group that you can easily connect with Cannes, France. For one they are often seen in the streets of Metro rallying, waving their streamers in their fight against corruption and abuse to women. The streets of Metro of simply far from the pathwalks of Cannes (both literally and figuratively).

Gabriela and Cannes. Hear the difference? Cannes and Gabriela, enough said.

Kudos to the group for bagging this award. The Bronze Media Lion from the Cannes International Advertising Festival is indeed something to be proud of. Gabriela got the bronze award for their Ad Campaign called “Duct Tape“.

The Ad poster is visually stunning and emotionally stirring. It features duct tape to represent repression on the rights of the abused women, rendering them unable to speak about the abuses or at least see the reality. Thanks to PDI for the picture.
