A Posthumous Presidential Medal of Merit is given to Francis Magalona. President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo gave the award to Francis Magalona’s family in Malacañang.

The award was given to the King of Pinoy Rap for promoting nationalism through his music.

The awarding ceremony was attended by Francis’s Eat Bulaga! Family headed by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) executive Tony Tuviera.

Pia Magalona, Francis’s wife was happy receiving the award.
