Jess Espanola – Emmy Winner Simpsons Animator

jess-espanola-emmy-winner-simpsons-animatorJess Espanola s the Filipino Simpsons animator who recently received an Emmy award. He is the assistant director of the popular animated TV show, The Simpsons and the first Pinoy to win the prestigious award.

Jess Espanola received the Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming Less Than One Hour) last year for the Simpsons episode entitled “Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind.”

“This is an animator’s ultimate dream, as well as for directors,” Espanola told Philippine News speaking in Tagalog. “I was so happy when I got the award. It was an honor not just for myself, but also for Filipinos.”

Espanola is also responsible as an Assistant Director for animations King of the Hill” and “Futurama” for 20th Century Fox Television Networks, and “Baby Blues” and “Mighty Kong Show” for Warner Brothers.

His other works also include the following animation, cartoon and video game titles: Adams Family, The Greatest Adventure: Stories from the Bible, The Jetsons Family Specials, Police Academy, The Flintstones Specials, Bill and Ted, Hallmark’s Timeless Tales, Smurfs, Scooby Doo, Tom and Jerry Kids, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Hiawatha, Ace Ventura the CD-ROM Game, Howie Mandel’s Great World Adventure, Microsoft’s Barney and Friends, and Kidsworld Online.
