Below is Jacque Bermejo’s Official Statement on the supposed comment that she made on a Facebook page regarding the fate of the Philippines and Typhoon Ondoy’s wrath.
Jacque Bermejo commented on the Definitely Filipino Facebook page saying the following lines: “buti n lng am hir in dubai! maybe so many sinners bak der! so yeah deserving wat hapend!” This comment sparked literally thousands of reactions from different people, most of them cursing the Jacque Bermejo.

Here is the Official Statement of Jacque Bermejo
I am issuing this statement to clear my name in the current controversy in which I allegedly posted a highly insensitive and offensive message on the social networking website, Facebook, in relation to the victims of typhoon Ondoy that recently struck parts of the Philippines.
About two years ago, an anonymous source created these accounts using my identity, posting my personal details, my real pictures captioned roughly and attacking other people. Because of these incidents, I reported such abuses and sent my credentials to the administrators of such sites, particularly Facebook. I have been abused and am still being abused online in social networking websites such as Facebook, Friendster, Multiply etc.In the early stages, I was advised by close friends to ignore the situation, saying this would simply go away. Unfortunately, it has not stopped. Hence, I filed a complaint with the Dubai Police about eight months ago hoping they could help me with my problem. Should anyone wish to check my statement, my case is still under investigation with said authorities.
Time passed and these sites continued to generate malicious, obscene and cruel messages that are widely exposed and relayed to the public under my name.
Yesterday, September 27th 2009, I received phone calls from my close friends regarding very alarming posts in the above mentioned websites that directly offended flood victims as a result of typhoon Ondoy..
These malicious statement(s) which are posted under account names Jacque or Jackie are not of my doing. It is unfortunate that such statements were maliciously attributed to me andI do sympathize and understand the adverse and somehow verbally violent reaction that has been elicited by such insensitive statements or posts. Rest assured, I have taken every legal step that can be done in this regard.
I too, have become a victim as much as those who may have lost their lives and properties to such a devastating natural calamity. This recent controversy has greatly affected my reputation, my family, and my friends. I am devastated and shocked at the extent my character, my personal information and private space have been violated.
I have a deep respect and regard for my country. I am proud to be a Filipino and would never say or do anything to harm the interest of my country or countrymen. I have also had the privilege of participating in civic-oriented activities in Dubai, particularly in trying to help my fellow countrymen seek employment during the height of mass layoffs brought about by the ongoing global financial crisis, as well as those seeking employment for the first time. Making a mockery of any unfortunate incidents befalling any of my fellow Filipinos is simply contrary to my character. I condemn the person or persons behind these malicious acts to impute damage on my integrity and I hope that you can dig deep into your hearts and minds to truly find the truth in all these.

Typhoon Ondoy did really a big big big damage to the Philippines, the Filipinos, we lost relatives, friends, co-workers, kababayans, we also lost properties etch, but you know what… we never heard 1 Filipino blaming God or Mother nature or if this is KARMA… all we heard from these people were… ‘SALAMAT SA DYOS AT LIGTAS KAME’ or ‘SALAMAT SA DYOS AT MERON KAMENG KARAMAY’ or ‘SALAMAT SA DYOS AT ME TUMULONG SA AMIN’

Should GOD had to use another disaster just for you to realized all of this?

IDENTITY THEFT IS REAL. OPEN YOUR MIND PEOPLE… There are lots of psychotic people in the world who love to pretend that they are someone else and who will go through all the trouble to destroy the original.
Lots of cases and criminal acts in US are related to Identity Theft. That is why they are very protective of their Social Security Numbers and personal details.
I don’t know Jacque. But I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt just because she deserves it..everyone else deserves it.
Also, if you are Jacque’s employer, will you hire a PR who sucks in English? The Facebook Jacque really suck, while the Jacque who wrote this statement is very eloquent. If you don’t see the difference, then I guess you have a problem…
And to those who curses her and wants her dead, I want you to remember what Jesus did when Mary Magdalene was about to be stoned to death.
We are all sinners in front of God, so we don’t have the right to judge anyone.

This is the best, well-thought and the most intelligent opinion I have ever read.
1.) Unless proven guilty beyond reasonble doubt, a person is considered innocent—so we must give her the benefit of the doubt. Not only in this brouhaha, it could also be best applied in our everyday lives.
2.) Identity theft is for real..I hope it doesn’t happen to anyone of us.
3.) Please do not be quick to judge others…Most of the time, judgement based on anger is often not the best, if not entirely wrong.
4.) Let us all pray to God for forgiveness and guidance…
5.) Let’s pay Mother Nature a little more respect than what we already have given…

True, IDENTITY THEFT is real true. it happened to me not just once but lots of times. so many friendster accounts under “bitchy” names using my pictures just to destroy me, my reputation, hurt me and take away all my friends and all those ppl who think nice about me. Identity theft is true. I personally know a good woman and mother of two kids na officemate ko dati. Inagaw na ng babae yung asawa nya, hi-nack pa yung e-mail account nya to send offensive letters to evgeryone on her address book, including her bosses, family, and friends. Hate that much and more is real, just like the hate everyone is showing here. And let’s not forget, all those fake accounts ng mga “artista” and celebrities sa friendster and all the social networks na gawa ng “fans” nila. Madaling gumawa ng fake account ng ibang tao. At syempre, paano mo papalitan or buburahin yung account or statements dun sa account na di mo naman ginawa. Na hindi mo alam ang password. I think na isa sa mga gumagawa ng open hate statements dito sa mga blog na ito ang gumawa nung account na yun. Si Jose Rizal na ang nagsabi, Isa sa mga pinakamalaking problema ng bayan natin ang utak talangka ng mga Pilipino. Huwag na nating palaganapin sa pamamagitan ng paghusga ng wala namang ebidensiya, masamang kumagat ang karma.

If ever his FB account was hacked, she should notify all her e-mail contacts… bakit pinabayaan niya? Akala ko ba UP graduate siya. Baka naman nakalimutan niya na may dugo pa rin siyang pilipino. mahirap din kasi sa Middle East lalo na kung kasama-sama mo mag bonding mga ibang lahi, akala mo mga prinsesa na. That’s true that making a fake accounts is usually happened in some sites, producing pictures is easy you can grab it to her original account, that also happened on me. someone grabbing my pics and making a new accounts on some sites, i wonder how it happened but i discovered its easy to make a fake account, myt be she was the victim of some heartless persons that hated her.. God knows who did that. karma is always be there.

Now I really believe she’s innocent. Whatever she has done for this “culprit” to have so much hatred towards her is no longer our business. Bottom line is, identity theft is a clear and present danger and it could very well happen to virtually anyone.

Guys, at first I was rage by her opinion, my family is devastated by this calamity and we will start all over again to build a new life,until now, my parents and my siblings still inwaist to neck deep of water, Im also an Expat like her,Im here in middle east working when disaster struck in our country, I cant do anything but to include my family and our kababayan a prayer. but I pity her now, she’s really in very difficult situation, I will not stand beside her nor criticize what she said, but let this woman be given a benefit of the doubt, in this era where hackers really exist, MAYBE, JUST MAYBE… she’s being abuse. Just a suggestion to her,JACK,why dont you try to get a camcorder, video yourself and let them see you clearing your name, send it to tv station in the philippines and people will know if you really tellin’ the truth. and for me,Im also givin my prayers to you.Rmember JACK,maybe SANITY is breaking away from you, with your situation,its very hard to sleep now.(Im using JACK to suppress my anger, still inside of me want to get a piece of that woman.) JACK, a piece of advise get a camcorder now.

Filipino people din’t judged her… she showed up like that! She was the one who gave that impression… all the Filipino people want is for her to come out clean… doing this statement does not suffice that comment she made… and it’s not utak talangka as the Filipinos are not bringing her down, she put herself down there first!! identity theft is rampant. pero kung current pictures mo ang ginagamit, along with your current location, at pati language is filipino.. hindi ka ba mag-iisip…
the account is in existence for the last 2 years including multiply, friendster, etc with your current pictures.. gaano ba sya kasikat para may magtake time na magnakaw ng picture nya? Walang may utak talangka dito..again may IP address na puedeng maretrieve kung gusto nyang mag complaint..
