Himala Could Get CNN’s Viewers Choice Award
Himala, one of the real classic Filipino films is one of the ten films vying for its APSA Viewers Choice Award.
Himala was chosen as one of the Top 18 Asian Films earlier. CNN put up an online poll where surfers can vote for the film which was directed by Ishmael Bernal and written by Sir Ricky Lee. The voting is only until October 11, so guys vote for this film. The winner will be announced on November 11 at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards, Australia’s Gold Coast.
Himala is fitted against other films such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon from China, The Seven Samurai from Japan, Gabbeh from Iran, Gallipoli from Australia, Pather Panchali from India, Spirited Away from Japan, Oldboy from South Korea, Infernal Affairs from Hong Kong/China, and Chungking Express from China.
I like the other films too but I would be happy if Himala wins this one. I’m calling all Filipinos to vote for Himala by following this link. Bloggers kindly do the same!
