Bong Revilla will be the newest Panday. The legendary hero immortalized by Fernando Poe Jr. will be seen in the big screen on a movie to be produced by GMA Films and Imus Production.

Panday will be GMA Film’s entry to the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival after the Kapuso network film arm’s three year absence.

FPJ had four Panday films including Ang Panday (1981), Ang Pagbabalik ng Panday (1982), Panday: Ikatlong Yugto (1983), and Panday: Ika-apat Na Aklat (1984).

The latest adaptation of Carlo J. Caparas komiks classic was the Panday starred by Jericho Rosales in ABS-CBN’s prime time slot.

Mac Alejandre will be directing the film while RJ Nuevas will be in charge of the script. Bong Revilla is yet to choose his leading lady.
