Dolphy may soon be given the National Artist title. This is if Senator Manny Villar’s proposal is granted by the committee on National Artist Award.

The Comedy King Dolphy is no less than happy of the Gawad Pambansang Alagad ng Sining or National Artist. Dolphy or Rodolfo Quizon is regarded as a pillar of the Philippine movie industry.

“Isang karangalan naman ‘yon. Bihira ang isang nagiging National Artist. Kung magkakatotoo ‘yan, ika nga, ‘yan na ang ultimate na, di ba?” Dolphy told Startalk.
