Brutus Nails NETPAC Award in Haiiwan Film Fest
Brutus by Tara Illenber won the coveted NETPAC title in the Hawaiian film festival.
The NETPAC or short for Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema is a group composed of film experts, critics, directors and organizers is an independent group that gives awards to specific Asian films joining prestigious international film competitions like Berlin, Venice Pusan, Cannes and Hawaii’s Louis Vuitton Hawaii International Film Festival (LVHIFF).
Previous Filipino films have won the NETPAC award in different film festivals, include Aureus Solito’s “Tuli” in Berlin, Brillante Mendoza’s “Tirador” in Singapore film fest and “Foster Child” in Brisbane recently.
Brutus earlier won the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival’s Jury Prize.
